We have had a holiday tradition of Fondue on Christmas Eve in my family since I was just a little girl. And...low and behold, when I met my husband, he told me that his family had the very same tradition when he was growing up.
Needless to say...we've adopted the tradition and moved it forward with our kids. The awesome thing of it is that it's gotten so easy to do these days what with all of the wonderful bite-sized foods around.
We start with Cheese Fondue for an appetizer...Then, move on to oils and broths for the main course...And, if we can still move after all that...We warm up three different kinds of chocolate with various additions for an incredibly decadent holiday dessert! YUMMY!
Good Luck...and Enjoy!

Other than the obvious (dinner with the fam every christmas and thanksgiving), one year, years ago, we had the table all set for christmas dinner but couldnt find a table ornament. I looked all over the house and found a little plastic figurine. (a character from Monsters inc. the green guy, with the one big eye..I dont remember his name), anyhoo I tied some christmas ribbon to it and set it in the middle of the table as a joke. Now every thanksgiving and christmas we set that stupid little thing in the middle of the table.

Always, always, always get the little lifesaver books in my stocking. Thanks Mom (I mean Santa). I started my own tradition with my husband on Halloween... I make lasagna from scratch, we watch The Thing with Kurt Russel and of course hand out candy to the kiddos.

I usually pester my husband enough for him to give me one of my presents on Christmas Eve. We watch Christmas movies. Christmas morning we walk across the street to his parents house, open presents, eat breakfast, go home shower and go back across to watch tv, play with the kids and their toys. Nibble all day until dinner is ready. Eat eat eat!! Play cards and drink bourbon slush.
When I was growing up we used to go to the movie every Christmas night.

The day after Rosh Hashana, Thanksgiving, and the Pesach seders, my mother would always made "fried leftovers". She'd stir fry left over vegetables, turkey chunks, cut up matzo balls, etc.
