Animals are constantly moving which force it to respire

Plants have a waxy substance that prevents it from losing or gaining water. What it does instead is open up it's leaves to gain what it needs and quickly closes it back up again.

Respiration is the process that provides energy for the cells to use. Animals use more energy overall than plants, and it isn't all for movement. It takes an enormous amount of energy to send messages along our nerves, and all animals have nerves except sponges.
