Noah is alive today and all the Prophets and Apostles are alive today because they were chosen from the foundations of the world by Jesus and believing in the one true God they believed in Jesus. Now He may have been a mystery to them, but they certainly know Him today.

Abraham, Joseph, Noah and countless others believed in the promise of the Messiah llong before He was born. Read Hebrews 11, this chapter has been described as the "Hall of Faith". Until the ultimate sacrifice was made by Jesus giving up His sinless life, these righteous men & women rested in Hades. After Jesus died and went to the center of the earth, He ministered to the souls there and set the captives free. Rest assured, Abraham, Joseph, Noah and all the others who obeyed God are with Jesus today. God bless you!!!

As a historian it says in Genesis 10:2 that Noah lived 950 years and then died. Genesis 9-10 Abraham died and is buried with his wife Sarah and Joseph. And in Genesis 48--15-22 Ireal in blessing Joseph's sons says"The Angel that redeemed me from all evil, bless these lads, and let my name be named on them and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac: let them grow into a great multitude... And the last Verse of Genesis tells of the death of Joseph, the Blessed Son of Isreal. If the dead proceed straight to heaven upon death then that is where they are. If you are speaking of the belief that they are in a seperate room near hell where they can see the sorrows of their damned brothers then that is where the idea that Jesus went to hell upon his death to deliver them if you read the Bible and the extended texts. Only Enoch and the prophet Elijah pasted from this earth with out dying according to the King James Text.

Uh excuse me but Joseph, Abraham, and Noah were Jews. According to the Old Testament which is a JEWISH TEXT, the Jews are God's chosen people, and therefore do not need Jesus to save them. Only the goys need Jesus. Also, athough Jews do believe in the coming of a messiah, they do NOT believe Jesus is THE messiah, if that was the case, there would be NO more suffering, war , pestilence etc. according to Jewish belief.
Please remember that in order to be saved, one must accept Jesus into one's heart.

The old testament text which is accepted by both Jews and Christians speaks of the coming messiah as having two distinct, contrasting characteristics; it is clearly shown that he will come in humiliation and suffering, and it is also clearly shown that he will come as a conquering king. This was not understood by the prophets who originally received these visions.

Jesus has come once in humiliation, to die on the cross. He will come again, as a reigning king. The Jews will then accept that he is the messiah they are looking for, and realise that they goofed by missing him the first time round.

Since you ask it as a history question, Christians claim you need to have accepted Christ to get to heaven, No Christ would mean no heaven. This led to the medieval theory of the "harrowing of hell" , where Jesus spent his couple days dead in Hell releasing the assorted prophets and characters of the Old Testament. According to Dante, they spent their time in the first circle of hell with the righteous pagans, who's only sin was not knowing Christ.
