Always, unless it is a matter of life or death. For example, you have a runaway slave hidden in your house. To save him, you will have to lie that you have not seen him anywhere. Situations like these seem like us being portrayed as heroes, but we are still lying at the same time. Sometimes ethics interfere with instinct and sometimes that can be a good thing.

Situation ethics is not the right thing to do. Follow your conscience and do what is right! Don't follow the crowd. Honesty is always the best policy!

Always...Lying is a vicious cycle
If you lie you have to tell another lie to cover it up and on and on
Tell the truth even it hurts... Then you will be more likely to not do something you have to lie to cover over.

I usually only lie to save someone embarrassment. Other than that honesty is the way to go.

Lies WILL come back to haunt you - believe me. If you're honest then you'll have no worries. Unfortunatly in some cases this is not the best poilicy. If I knew the situation I could tell you.

If you tell the truth, it's easier to remember. If you tell one lie, then you often have to tell other lies to cover the first. Pretty soon, you can't remember the story line in your lies and you get caught.

Always.

The truth will haunt you until it eventually comes out. And then if you've lied, you're really in trouble.
