positive plus a posite equals a positive. EX: 4+2=6
Negative plus a positive depends on if the number is larger tehn you take the sign of it. EX: +9-(-2)=+6. because the 9 is a larger # so you take that symbol. or you can do same change change. like you keep 9 the same change the subtration sign and then change the negative sign. but this only works if the negative number and posite number are being subtracted.

ok a positive number [lets say 2] plus a positive number [lets say 1] would indeed be a positive number [3]. a negative plus a positive would depend, the bigger number would be the sign and then you subtract. example :
15 - negative 4.
15 is bigger than -4 so it would be a positive. 15-4= 11. your answer would be 11.

b] negative plus negative equals a total of the two negatives
ex: - 3 and -7 equals -10.
c] negative plus positive equals the positive number minus the negative number
ex: -8 and +3 equals -5; because the negative number is larger; but

im makin u a little table with bonus information ;) :

Addition:
positive + positive = positive

negative + positive= you subtract the smaller number and the
negative + negative= negitave
sign is coppied from the greater number, example:
-2+3
3-2=1
-2+3=1

Subtaction

positive - positive= positive unless the second number is greater than the first
negative - negative= this ones hard. example:
-3--4
-3+ 4 (you change the 4 to a positive and add)
-3+ 4= 1

multiplication

positive x positive=positive
negative x negative = positive
negative x positive= negative (and same vise-versa)

division

same rules as multiplication; positive divided by positive is positive (same with negative divided by negative)

positive divided by negative (and vise versa)=negative

enjoy math and dont forget this stuff

+ plus + = +
+ plus - = +/- depends which is higher in value. (higher wins)
- plus - = -

DON"T BELIEVE those answers saying a neg. plus a pos. is neg. that's only true if the negetive has a bigger number!

example:
-10 + 2 = -8
BUT
-6 + 9 = 3
