I'm very confused about what antifreeze does, it lowers the freezing point, and the melting point?Does it increases the boiling point as well?

What does it do in car liquid?

And why do we use rock salt in making ice cream?

Antifreeze is a liquid solution inside the radiator that lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of water. Also called coolant, antifreeze circulates through the engine absorbing the excess heat that is created during the combustion process.

We use rock salt to lower the freezing point of the water.... which is necessary for the ice cream to actually freeze without it, the ice would melt but the ice cream wouldn't freeze but would equalize at 32ºF (It needs to be below 27º to freeze the ice cream.)

Antifreeze stops the radiator from freezing and bursting the engine block. It also protects it from boiling over.

Rock salt on ice makes the ice colder so it freezes the ice cream faster.

Antifreeze helps to keep the motor of a vehicle from freezing in winter time, and also helps the motor from over heating.
