Looking for a nice place to take make girlfriend for fall folliage thats around a large city.?

I'de like to go to a place that has fun barlife, great restaurants but still great scenic views of the fall folliage. We would like to travel the beginning of November. Any ideas?

You should try Traverse City, MI. A little late to hit the peak color, but it will still be nice. It's a great city with all the modern shops, casinos, restaurants, wineries, and beautiful views of the lakes.
