LOL, Scarlett is talking about men like me.

Decided to shave it all early this morning (and did). Must admit it looks nicer clean shaven.

I first grew my beard while in Antarctica 1972-73. I had to shave it off because it wasn't on my Navy ID card when I got to my new command. I put in a chit (special request form) about a year later and started growing it again. I've had a beard ever since, except on New Year's Eve of 1984 and we had a beard shaving party with a bunch of my ship mates because as of 1 Jan '85, the Navy did not allow beards. I left my last ship on 30 October '85 (getting ready to retire) and never shaved again (except where I don't want my beard to grow). Someone asked the other day if my barber shapes my beard and they were surprised I do it myself.

Depends on the man and his style. Some of these so called College guys are preparing for a future in business and do not think that a beard would be the thing to wear. So they made their choice. And some love to cover their faces with beards and they are very happy with it. More to them and their happiness.

Well my problem with men is they either don't grow a beard (like Lee) or they won't shave completely. They go for that half shave stubble look.. OUCH! Have you ever tried kissing someone like that? It hurts.

Beards are soft, I like beards. Unless you are going to grow a decent beard, or keep yourself very clean shaven, I don't want to kiss ya

Well I think that the General Lee look is nice but one has to have a certain type of face to pull it off and still look good in it. I like the look of Nicolas II of Russia's beard myself. The General Grant look is good to, but once again people have to be able to pull it off. Not everyone can look good with facial hair.

Hee hee! Like General Lee, the confederate? You're really funny.

I think that cean shaven is just the thing right now. I certainly like beards, but some people think it looks sloppy.

Ummm....well...Look at it this way: if YOU were a female, and General Lee tried to do you a "favor" (wink, wink)....Perhaps after you objected to the whiskers, General Lee might shave them off in order to make said favors less objectionable....and in so doing, the good General might find his services more in demand....You get the idea!!

DUDE! have you even GROWN YOUR BEARD OUT???? that **** is so uncomfortable. it itches, its hot, and a lot o people don't think it is good hygiene not to mention its just something else to have to take care of. In todays world there isn't much time to take care of something like that.

Fine, I admit it! I can't grow a decent beard! When I try, it just comes in all patchy and looks awful. I look like a teenager with scraggly weeds on my face.

Go ahead, make fun of me!

If I don't shave it makes my face break out in a rash and it itches like hell.
