Outside of your normal daily grind! is there something you like to do that stops you going totally crazy buying a high powered rifle finding a tall building and just picking off idiots!

I like to listen to the HEAVYEST Heavy Metal on the Planet! play video games, take random photographs, create art & collect Skulls.

I also read a LOT, mainly fiction, in the horror and Sci-Fi genres.

I do pretty much everything you do...
I also love walking around our local forests, cooking new foods (cooking actually relaxes me as long as no one is in the kitchen to get in my way!), reading a random comic book here and there, driving (I've often just had to go for a drive alone along country roads to stop from flipping out), going to metal shows and being "pit control," playing games that involve me with a high powered rifle picking off idiots so I don't actually have to do it in real life and SNUGGLING MY KITTIES!!!

Ha... I like mckybird's answer. He sounds a little nervous, don't you think?

I enjoy coin collecting. My grandfather has always collected coins and I've recently gotten hooked. It doesn't have to cost a lot. I can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination I'm in the mood for) for exactly face value. A box of cents is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of half dollars or quarters are $500.

Once I get a box, I go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). I keep all interesting coins and try to fill holes in my coin books.

The coins that I don't want/need can be returned to the bank and put straight back into my account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that I don't end up searching the same boxes over and over). So most of my money goes back and I can then get another box.

Some things to search for: wheat cents, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, coins with an "s" mint mark - they may be proof coins etc. There's always the chance of finding a real treasure!

I read. There's not many things that will make me feel better. It's so nice to be able to curl up in bed (or the bath if we had one) with a good book. Perhaps some light fiction, or if I'm in a more intellectual mood, some work of non-fiction. I'm currently reading about the last emperor of China, having just finished an Agatha Christie novel. I'm also reading The Trumpeter of Krakow to my daughter. When most of my time is taken up looking after a baby, I really need the intellectual stimulation of reading, or I would go mad! I don't know how much of it I retain, being Mamma Brained, but at least I'm trying :)

I like the sentiment but around here there aren,t many walking about with a sign saying idiot Collecting skulls is ok as i carry one around town as an ash tray [not communal im territorial].Not so much the heavy metal though as i still wear a drape,so rock and roll is more on the agenda, but seriously loud Reading true crime books is my thing,i learn from there mistakes, this has to be true or the story wouldn,t be told

As a single parent, where the most interesting, "live" conversation apart from my daughter is normally with the cat, I know a bit about the "daily grind". Personally I like like to get too smashed to get the rocket propelled grenades out of the cupboard and usually miss with anything smaller. Otherwise the hood would be just that, a neighbourhood without the neighbours. BOOM! Bye-Bye, Mr. "I can play my Heavy Metal at all hours without consideration for anybody else". KERSPLAT (Yeuch, What a Mess - Somebody clean that up) Exit loud-mouth football supporting Family Lard. FIZZBANG. No more Mrs Save-The-Gay-Single-Parent-Whale. (You can't take random photos cos her daughter might be within 50 yards).
Home-brewing and consumption of product, gardening (and consumption of product),a bit of programming, computer games, internet chat and my daughter just about manage to keep me sane.

I go play in the garden like a 3 year old with my german shepherds. I go flying and windsurfing! I try and visit somewhere new where ever possible. Basically anything however small or different I'll so as I think it is really important to break up the daily grind - life's too short!

Sounds like we do similar things! In times of stress the music gets noisier and I disappear into my art. Oh, and my hair changes colour - the more colours in my hair, the more stressed I am!!! During the last months of uni I was listening to solid metal all the time and had 5 colours in my hair, how McFly of me!! LOL

I also used to have an inflatable punchbag and would kick the crap out of it whilst listening to Metallica. Unfortunately I punched a hole in it :-(

When I was having a very difficult time in my life. I found working out and training my body to be a great escape. I would go to the park and just focus on my run.

I usually take my dogs for a walk. It helps me calm down, and plus, its really nice outside! I can think about other things instead of how upset I am--like the beautiful fall foliage.

I even have an identical issue. I would desire to flow outdoors (honest) to fart, rain or shine, day or nighttime. i basically won't be able to fart interior the homestead or the scent would be there for hours and it will make me puke.
