First you would need to hire a lawyer or go through your local child support enforcement office and they can recommend someone. Yes it can be raised but more than likely no more than one pay check bring home pay of the ex. and from experience it is better to do it every 3-4 years or ask for the courts to order a cost of living raise till the child is 18 or older

As others posted you will definitely have to return to court for the case to be reviewed once again. If his assets (i.e., salary) has increased and other factors. If it is determined he is capable of paying more the courts will grant you an increase. From experience I suggest you do your own detective work first. My ex actually hid a number of assets including transfering a number of accounts over to his mother and sister. Just when he thought he was safe and I did some detective work that is when I petitioned the family court to reassess the child support order. It was increased by an additional $380.00 a month and he had to pay a back child support difference as well (6 months.)

You will have to go to court unless the father agrees to raise the child support on his own. If it has been four years you should be able to get more. By now your ex has had a raise or 2 at work and is making more money now. He will have to bring pay stubs or W2's to show what he makes now.

Yes, you have to file a motion with the court. It cannot be done outside court because it'll require a new child support order (amendment to the existing one). Whether it'll be successful obviously depends on the father's ability to pay. Go to your courthouse and ask whether there's a pro-bono lawyer to help if you don't have the money for a regular lawyer.

In NYS you are entitled to a raise every three years, or when there is a job change or pay increase, you have to file for an increase and go to court again, I have been seperated 4 yrs with a court ordered agreement, I havent gone in for a raise because my ex, will help when needed ie, buy school clothes, shoes, pays half daycare, and half extra cirricular activities, I dont ask him to give me the money just to write checks for stuff or to purchase on his own, so he doesnt feel he is giving me money, but its almost time to go to court, things are costing alot more these days.
good luck, its not that difficult to get an increase, just make sure he is making more then last time, because you could get yourself a decrease if he is not making the same or more.

You have to go to court to request a raise in child support, you also have to show the reasons you need the raise.

First ask the person responsible for making child support payments for raise in child support payments. Be reasonable like ask for $50 to $100 anymore than that will generally be fight.
If the payor resists then go to the child support office in your state. It will all depend on if the payor can afford to pay more.

HIS CHILD SUPPORT SHOULD BE BASED ON HIS INCOME. SO IF HE MAKES THE SAME AS BEFORE YOU WON'T GET ANYMORE MONEY....BUT IF HE DOES MAKE MORE MONEY GO TO THE COURTHOUSE AND FILE A COMPLAINT FOR MORE CHILD SUPPORT .. IT IS FREE BUT YOU WILL PROBABLY SPEND MOST OF THE DAY IN COURT...
