My house is my home, my castle, my space to share with whom I choose and god help anyone who tries to invade all of that. A home is where you should be able to do what you want with whom you choose, whenever you feel like it. A house should be a home first and foremost, not a speculative investment. Homes need to be affordable so everyone can enjoy a better "home" life and not be forever in debt to the money grabbing landowners and house developers who have forced prices up and up until we foolishly think we must get on the housing ladder at any cost. Jumping on the housing ladder in the end just fuels the upward spiral of unaffordability. Luckily my mortgage is almost paid off and the house I call home is very nearly mine.

I wonder whether tonight is a barbeque night or a pool party night?

Nah! We live in a tiny one bedroom flat BUT the building was made way back in the 50's so it's got large, high ceilings etc. Not like they make today ~ places that look like match-boxes!! LOL
Now it's very homey I know as I had a English lady come down for a cuppa tea one day and she was very stiff-necked woman who I was worried she might get offended (as the place is kind of old; and so is the carpet!) but she said to me; what a lovely HOME I had!!!
OK?!!

Nah, my house is definitely my home. I went to Spain for a month by myself and I really missed having my own home to get back to after a long, adventurous day.

It's a flat. I don't feel at home in it though. I had to move into it in March 2006 and cried bitterly at leaving my house. I had lived in that house for nearly 32 years and that was my home. Our local council wouldn't remove the bath and put a walk in shower in for me so I had to move. They did it for the foreign woman who lived around the corner though :-(

I dropped in for a little fun; but I read the other answers and don't feel so jokey any more.
