No, the hypocrAcy you're smelling is coming from Rush's radio program, where he, for years, while "stoned out of" his mind on ILLEGALLY obtained Oxcontin, railed about drug addiction was weakness and how all addicts should be lined up against the wall and shot, or at least serve many years in prison. Then, when his own illegal means of obtaining pain killers was revealed, all of a sudden it's I'm a VICTIM, it's a DISEASE, I need REHAB, prison is for JUNKIES, I'm not a JUNKIE, gimme another CHANCE," blah blah blah.
Only good thing about Rush Limbaugh? He has even less credibility than George W. Bush has. That's a claim very few people in the world can seriously make.
UH oh... you HAD to bring up the Chappaquiddick Death, didn't you? See, that means I have to bring up the fact Laura Bush killed her former finacee in Texas in a car accident she was found to be at fault for (she ran a Stop Sign).
But oh yeah she's a Republican, there are different rules for Republicans. Republicans can tap another man's foot in a public restroom but it doesn't mean anything. Republicans can send dirty emails to underage boys and that's ok he didn't really mean it. Enron can screw your grandparents out of their life savings and pensions and the Republican attitude is, "they should have been more careful", while shovelling hundreds of billions of dollars over to Iraq, while people displaced by Katrina two YEARS ago are still waiting for the flood waters to reced out of their houses so the houses can be torn down and rebuilt. Meanwhile, those FEMA trailers are to be vacated at the end of this month, JUST as the weather is starting to get cold. Nice government we have. Billions for Iraqis who just want to blow us up, and actual voting US citizens are left out in the cold to die.
Is THIS the Democracy we're promoting around the world?

I doubt that the Kennedy called for the death penalty for drug dealers, as did Rush. It's those like Vitters, Craig, Rush and many more from the GOP that take the high moral ground while at the same time doing all those things they are accusing the Dem's of doing.

The issue is that Rush made dozens of references to locking up drug addicts ,rehab was a joke and there are no valid excuses for it. He also lumped all types of drug use into that belief. Shouldn't he have voluntarily gone to jail if his convictions regarding drug addicts were so strong? It's not the drug addiction, it is the hypocrisy in his rants that lump all drug users into one group, and then his refusal to join that group when he is exposed as a drug addict and to use the same excuses that he lambasted on his show.

I have back problems myself and know how bad the pain can be. I don't fault Rush for taking drugs for the pain, but there is another pain that he gives me in a place I don't want to mention.

As a drug addict, Rush suggested that all addicts and/or dealers should be kicked out of the country. This makes Rush a super-hypocrite.
