Lucky I saw this one. I am one of the few world renowned people who know the answer. Due to the survival mechanism if we taste something real poisonous and bitter you instinctively spit it out like a knee jerk reflex. But in the triangular sandwich well your nose and tongue are really bombarded with both the odor and sweet taste of the delicious triangular sandwich which goes deeper into the mouth. Same reason Pizza Pies are round round and not square. Think about it you taste one piece of yummy pizza and all that cheeses and wheat and oils hits deep in side of your tongue. You eat a good piece of pizza and you'll always want another. This is a throw back to the days when humanity were hunter gatherers and man when you got to eat you had better enjoy it because you might not get a another chance. Think of our cave men and woman ancestors no dominos pizza, no hamburger stands nope they had to eat antelope or bison or maybe for a feast a wooly mamouth.

Because all of the flavor is in the middle of a sandwich and when you cut it in a triangle and you bite into it, it taste so much better than the square. Yum

sorry I have to disagree. great big door stop sandwiches always taste better than either triangle or little square ones

Because we eat with our eyes as well as our mouth,
if food is pleasent and different then usual, it seems appealing, when my kids were between 4 and 13 they thought the crust was yucky so, I baked bread in coffee cans and had round loaves, NO crust, fooled them for awhile, even the neighbors kids loved them, sandwichs didn't last long and no more corners left on the plates...

Ah, you noticed this! Maybe because of something to do with how much crust on each side of the bread. I guess if the crust is cut triangular is tastes better. Oh well, just enjoy it!

if the sandwich is cut into 4 triangles it makes it easier to eat the sandwich if u dont want to eat the crust...making you happier when you're eating it! :)

That's a good question. I think that pretty things somehow taste better. I think coca-cola tastes better from their glass bottle than from a can.
