depending on the environment. Pugs are indoor dogs, but can live outside. No extremes, hot or cold. They are prone to respiratory problems from their short nasal passages, as you can tell by their snorting.
They, as are most small dogs bred for companion dogs, and aren't usually tested for the outdoors, and crave people contact.
If able, I'd have a doggie door so they can come and go if its because you aren't home and just wanted to leave them outside. And maybe a house outside?
If you are making a life change and want to put them outside permanently, then think a little harder.

they can easily over heat like all dogs but they over heat more then most and then when it gets cold out they dont have long fur and then they would get cold. They would not adapt good at all becasue of the nature of their breed. A pug is not an outside dog and they are small and should not be bad in they house like some bigger dogs. They are friendly LAP DOGS and because of that they dont belong outside. They also require little walking so maybe like 15-30 minutes outside will be good for them. You cant just let the dog out all day because then you will start to notice you dont pay as much attention to him/her and the dog can start turning aggressive and bark at everybody. That happened to my neighbor and they got in trouble by animal control because their dog barked and bit people.... they got called by them and i dont know the rest. This might happen to a pug if it is forced to change. They will be able to learn to stand they heat a little longer everytime but a pg should NEVER be left outside in the heat and cold for more then 45mins. If one hour seams fine to you when you see the temp you are wrong because 75 degrees f would be a lot hotter for your pug
pugs can not be outside dogs and they will not adapt well at all and you will have greater dog years if you keep your dog inside but that doesnt mean no outside time. you should just not leave you dog outsie for a llong time

NO!!!!!
Pugs are bred to be in air conditioned rooms sitting very still and snoring all day. They are bred companion dogs and have no business out doors where they will either get too hot or too cold. They can not adapt to the weather.

Oh come on! Pugs are little lapdogs. They were bred to be pets, not outdoor animals. So my answer is no on the whole. I'm not saying a pug would surely die if kept outside, but it would lead a miserable life. Pets are meant to be part of the family.

Um, no. They will not.
They cannot survive extreme temperatures. They need to be indoors.
They are also small breed, which means they can fall victim to hawks, foxes, and stray dogs.
Psychologically, they were bred to be with humans.
If you put a pug outside, you'll be lucky if it lives a week. It's a pretty expensive animal to throw in the backyard and ignore. Why do you want a dog anyway if you won't even let it live inside with you? Get a plant.
