The directions are to name the property shown. The property can either be communutative property OR associative property.

1.) 3 x ( 8 x 4 ) = ( 3 x 8 ) x 4

2.)3 x 8 = 8 x 3

3.) 4 + 7 = 7 + 4

4.) 8 + ( 9 + 7 ) = ( 8 + 9 ) + 7

ok there are the problems.. this is what I THINK the answers should be
1.) Associative Property

2.) Commutative Property

3.)Commutative Property

4.)Associative Property

Yes, you are correct, except you could be more specific.

E.g.

1) Associative property OF MULTIPLICATION.
etc.

Yes you arre right. For completeness you might want to add
"of multiplication" to 1) and 2) and "of addition" to 3) and 4).

1) is commutative because you didnt change the order of the numbers
4) is commutative because you didnt change order of #'s !!
