Men too get Engagement rings or Eternity rings . It does not matter what you call a ring but it is very common to see an engaged couple exchange rings .

This is not 100 % accurate , both my husbands wore engagement ring's and in some religions men also wear them , I am not religious I just wanted peeps to know the men were on their way to being unavailable.

Its the first step in ALL YOUR MONEY becoming theirs !!!!!

In all honesty - I think it goes back to the days when women were considered a part of a man's property. Thus, the engagement ring symbolized that teh woman was "taken" and no longer on the market. She "belonged" to someone.

Sick to say - but kinda like branding cattle.

That should make all the feminists out there want to run out a burn their engagement rings :) - so much for equality.

Some guys do have engagement rings, not usually a flashy rock, something a bit more low key!

Because most men don't want to wear one. In fact, to a lot of men, even wearing the wedding ring is annoying. My fiance doesn't want to wear one... I told him that he would be short a testicle or two if he didn't!!!

My girlfriend's fiance got an engagement ring. It will be fused to his wedding ring when they get married.

If you want one, then get one!

Never thought about that before. It's probably an ownership tag, originating from the times when a lady had to show she was already spoken for and a man could do more or less what he liked.
