I live in Nebraska and planted grass seed in a small area in my yard. I hope it isn't to late to grow properly.

How many days do I have to wait to see the first growth?

The grass should be fine. Just make sure you water it everyday to establish a strong root system. The warmer the nights the faster the seeds will sprout. I planted a shady section of our backyard last weekend, (I'm in IL), and had new growth in 3 days! It was amazing! I just planted another section on Saturday and have not seen any growth. However, it has been a little cooler at night. It is suppose to warm up tomorrow and through the rest of the week, so hopefully, I will see some new growth!

By the way, fall is a great time to plant grass, perennials, roses, bushes, etc. It actually gives them a headstart for the following year.

Good luck!

At this time of the year you might have only fed the birds. I have always waited until spring or early summer so the grass can establish itself before winter.

About a week if the nights aren't getting too cold yet. Otherwise, it probably won't sprout before spring.
