Depends what your writing with and how hard your pressing. Felt markers, ink probably won't hurt you. Ink would if your breaking the surface of your skin. You could get blood poisoning.

Which reminds me...on Friday i was sooo bored that i drew a big Chicken head on the top of my thigh and wrote "Chicken Thighs" , because they're big (i wear a 7-9 in juniors), and on the way down my leg i wrote...

Most inks are nontoxic, so as long as you're not breaking the skin (which could get infected), I see no real problem.
