Rush is a soldier in his own private warbuck campaign. He makes money off of the troops and the support Amercans gives them. If he can 'come up' with things to say to instill some sort of emotion in his fans, they'll continually reinforce his distorted view and cause for more readership. The dems are irked over the fact that republicans got all official over the moveon.org political statements about a general playing politics during war time. The left and many conservatives are becoming edgy over the misinformation station the white house seems locked in on. George Bush sets the channel to 'hurray for me' and then removes the knob. Rush happens to be the only radio announcer at the time. But that's OK with the GOP, apparently. Rush has the morbid tendency to be 'all inclusive'.

From Rush Limbaugh's own biography:

After using his pilonidal cyst - a congenital birth defect - to
avoid military service in the Vietnam War, Limbaugh briefly
worked for radio stations in Pittsburgh, PA and Kansas City,
MO. Fired from both jobs, he worked as a wiener salesman for
the KC Royals baseball franchise, eventually slithering back into
the radio business.

Limbaugh got out of serving in the military because of a pilodinal cyst on his rearend that was diagnosed by his personal doctor and not the military.

Cheney and Rush both have deferments so they can never be accused of being any kind of soldiers, cowards or chicken hawks for sure, but that a answer for a different question

no, but the guy he was talking about, a one, jesse macbeth was indeed a phony soldier, he only spent 44 days in boot camp before he washed out. never served in iraq, but he told the mainstream media he was, he was never in afgahnistan, he claimed to the media he was, was never awarded a purple heart , yet, again, he told mainstream media he was..he was a phoney soldier, rush went on to explain all this within minutes of his firestorm comment..the senators are lying like they never lied before, they know all this information, yet they continue misconstruing what he meant by the phrase "phony soldiers"...and secondly, just because you never served, does not mean you can't comment on the war..do people who have opinions on crime have to be cops? do you have to be a preist to pray? a doctor to talk about health? of course not, THAT WOULD BE DUMB.

Nope. He "bailed out" of the Service on account of extreme flatulence. Gas warfare is currently unacceptable in today's Military. :)

No, and it's because he got a deferment, thanks to a cyst on his butt. What really gets me about his supporters is that they say that non-soldiers have no right to comment on Iraq, yet for some reason, they make an exception for Rush Limbaugh. Not only that, but they even engage in smear campaigns against those who have valiantly served their country, such as John Murtha, John Kerry, and Al Gore. I guess it's alright to voice your opinions only as long as they coincide with theirs, regardless of whether you have served or not.

Holy jackhole city! Don't you people know what the "phoney soldier" remark was in regards to?

I am not going to stand up for Rush. He is more than capable of standing up for himself.

If he can survive the NFL thing, this is nothing but stupidity and you Dimms are shooting yourself in the foot by perpetuating it.

He is a freakin' radio personality! Why are you giving him so much political weight? You are showing how crazy you really are!

Only in his mind. Rush Limbaugh as with many of the pro-war types dodged the Vietnam war draft.
