I started to pull out the weeds and discovered that there is no sidewalk there (just a bunch of broken up sidewalk). So no there is a big hole. So I put the weeds back afraid that someone would trip in the hole (i didn't pull it all out) So I have a couple of questions

1. Did the side walk break up because the weed started growing or because it broke up the weed had dirt to grow into

2. Should I pull up the grass and weeds growing into other cracks because it keeps the rest of the side walk level?

3. I want to keep the sidewalk in the best shape that I can. How do I do this?

ground has washed out from under it.the weeds just grow where they can .
Might i sugguest that place the pieces so they look nice.
Most of the time the sidewalk belongs to the

Call Your City Hall and report the broken sidewalk. They will fix it. Pour Vinager on the weeds, or use a small propane torch on them.
