If you're sure you'll never run out of RAM (very unlikely).

Some people temporarily disable paging files whilst defragmenting their hard drive, since the page file is unmovable and can get in the way of the defragmenting process.

I never recommend disabling your page file. Because normally, when you run out of RAM, a paging file is used to use hard drive space like virtual RAM. Bits of this 'virtual memory' are copied into and out of the real memory when they're needed.

If you disable the paging file, then once you're out of RAM, you're stuffed!

Only if you have plenty of RAM and not much hard disk space to spare.
