I've noticed that since I started adding some formula to my breastmilk she has been extremely gassy and fussy and miserable.. I called the Dr and they said to take a thermometer to the rectal area in which i tried and it worked the first time 4 days ago but wasn't working today.. Her stomach doesn't really seem hard to me.. Should I worry about this?

Ask your the pediatrician if Mylicon Drops are okay for the baby. It helps with her being fussing and gassy. Also try to help her make a bowel movement by laying her on her back and putting her knees to her chest, don't force it, but this should help her relieve some gas.

By the way....Congrats on your bundle of joy

This is one of the quirks of breastfeeding babies. My daughter sometimes goes for close to a week without a bowel movement. You might try some mylacon for her gas. She might also be having a hard time processing the formula. Remember that breastmilk is a baby's perfect food. BMs are waste from what isn't used by the baby. It's possible that the baby isn't wasting any of what she's getting. If she's growing fine and is alright in other aspects, I wouldn't worry too much.
For the fussiness what I've found that works for my little one (I have a 9 week old) is a to get into a warm (not hot) bath with her and lay her on her tummy against mine and rub her back. It helps to soothe her and builds the bond between us even stronger. It might be something to look into

she might be lactose intolerant, since she started getting gassy and miserable with the formula. Try just the breastmilk again and see if there is any change. If there is no improvement or bm. in the next couple of days, I would take her to her Pediatrician.

Is she having trouble with the type of formula you are supplementing with? Can you try to exclusively breastfeed for a few days and see if that helps? There are also tricks with karo syrup and prune juice, but I haven't had to use them myself. I believe there is a suppository you can get at the drug store too. I'd talk to your doctor and inquire if she might have an allergy to an ingredient in her formula, or something you are eating and passing through your milk,

It is normal to have changes in bowel movements with the introduction of formula, but make sure that your daughter is getting enough fluids, is she drinking the same amount as before? Not enough fluids could make her constipated. Most importantly is that she is having wet diapers. But I think if she doesnt have a bowel movement within a day or two, take her to the doctors office. Goodluck.

ps. Check her temp. to make sure she doesnt have a fever.

Karo Lite Corn Syrup in some warm water does the trick. My son went on a 7 day "poop strike" and the corn syrup helped him out.

Some baby will take sometime to adjust to newly introduced formula. My advise is, stick to breast milk for now and I'm sure it will come back to normal. Unless you are going back to work now, there is no reason to start other formula. It is too early!! Your breast milk is very important for the health of your baby. At least you wait until your baby's primary immunizations are completed.

When you inserted thermometer, did you discern that her rectum was full (or, as my mother would say, "has she got a big lump in there?")
If not, she's not in any trouble. If yes, a baby glycerin suppository will make her push her dirt out..

warm baths, formula will clog up ur little one. My daugther didn't go for 4 days or so. I would just let her get used to it, she'll finally poop
