Seems like an incredible waste of time and money to go to the doctor just to have them snip the stitch and pull it out.

Sure! As long as it looks like it healed well, save yourself the $30 bucks for the doctor and do it yourself. Small manicure scissors work great because they are slightly curved and can get under the knot. I've removed several on myself and never had a problem. Doesn't hurt or anything!

I think it would be alright to do that. First make sure that the injury is completely healed. Make sure it is closed properly, and that it is dry, not red or puffy. If the stitches are small, make sure you use very small scissors and tweezers. Clean the wound very well, both before and after. I have taken out my own stitches plenty of times, and thankfully didn't do any damage to myself. Make sure you do not take the stitches out until the time the doctor would have.

Yes you can. Its very simple too. All you need is a tweezers to lift the stitch up, then snip one side with pair of fingernail clippers, and pull it out. I have removed all my own stitches and all of my dogs and children's, its no big deal.

Don't do it! You should have medical training to do anything connected to surgery, stitches, etc. It may be a waste to go to the doctor, but it's not as bad as hurting yourself.

Nobody here is a doctor, don't listen to them.

Sure you can! Not a big deal as long as it is healthy and healed.

Maybe you can, but should you? How well do you know how to treat infection and gang green?
