The magnetosphere acts as a shield to our atmosphere, directing oncoming solar radiation and preventing it from stripping it away. By redirecting, it also helps in preventing it from destroying fragile organic compounds upon which life depends.

Because water would flow wrong. Sea floor spreading would not occur causing major disruptions on the oceans. The erath would not spin and we would all die.
