Ok well yesterday my brother found a squirrel on the ground. He gave it food and we like watched it. We think its abandoned. But yea he lets us touch it and stuff. Also, my dad bought it some squirrel feed from Walmart and we hung it in the tree. Well today when my brother got home and we check the food to see if he ate any. He ate a lil bit. But then my brother picked it off of the tree and laid some food on the ground and it ate alot of it. But the squirrel looks just like it is sick and it walks wierd... Yesterday it was hopping everywhere but now it can barley walk. How do we care for the squirrel? O also, everytime we touch it we use a glove. But anyways What can we do to save a squirrels life?

We had that happen with a squirrel here too. I got it into a carrier and took it to the Humane Society, they have a wildlife section with rehabber people there.

They said it was poisoned by those lawn treatment sprays, they get about 600 squirrels a year turned in who walk wobbly, mostly from absorbing the poison from the grass. Most of them they can't save.

Check around your area, see if anyone had a spray on their lawn for weeds or fertilizer. If they have those little signs out, then there's not much that can be done.

Squirrels are NOT on the list CDC (Center For Disease Control) list as a significant contributor to the spread of the Rabies virus. However, they do commonly have fleas, lice and other parasites. You've got a better chance of getting hit by a bus than contracting Rabies from a Squirrel. It sounds to me as though your squirrel doesn't have sense enough to run from you. That means he's a baby and needs formula. If he doesn't get it he'll die, and fast. They begin eating 'some' solids at about six weeks of age. If his legs are bowed and appear rubbery he could have MBD or Metabolic Bone Disorder and was thrown out of the nest on purpose. You've got to hand feed him with a syringe, call a wildlife rehabilitator NOW, or get him to a vet NOW. Otherwise he's going to die.

Take it to the vet ASAP to ensure that the animal isn't suffering from a disease. Not just for u and ur family's sake, but for the poor squirrel's sake. I hope he's ok... It would b pretty cool to have a squirrel as a pet. Good luck!

Squirrels have rabies sometimes so I wouldn't touch it...

This is going to sound weird but you should bring it to a vet to be put to sleep. It may have rabies.
