Ok heres my question.

There has been an abandoned tractor trailer sitting in a street that I work for. It has been abandoned since July. The company that owns it, is in South Carolina. Obviously, the company lost it or totally forgot about it. I was thinking.... "If I call up the company and let them know about the trailer being there for that long, and attach pictures of the trailer (without the number or license plate) and ask them for a reward, is that legal?

That is legal, it is not a bribe, you are requesting a reward, If you word your request properly no problem. Do you pay a reward for locating a truck belonging to your company?!~!

What you are proposing is not bribery. You can ask for, but cannot demand a reward. calling the company may help them to locate it and they may be grateful to hear from you. Thye may not want it too. Something that big is usualy not left abandoned for that long without someone noticing. Perhaps there is a purpose for it being there.

and where is the bribe??? what you have stated here is NOT a bribe.... it's more like extortion... I'm SURE you aren't the only one in the area that NOTICED this trailer sitting there... I would bet that someone already knows about it somewhere ... Oh and even if someone DID "lose" that trailer--it's EXTREMELY tacky to even ASK for any kind of a reward!!
