Mormans are strong beleivers in jesus christ. They beleive that family is their most imprtant asset and read the book of mormon and well as the bible. you can read more about their religion here

Just like with all religions...Diversity is great but its just easier to marry someone with the same beleifs as you... This creates less friction between two joining families

I used to date a man who's mother was raised Mormon. She left the church when she was 16, and didn't like to talk about it much. But I do know her dad was a polygamist - he had 3 wives and at least 10 kids with each wife. My ex has around 980 cousings in Utah. Not all Mormons are polygamists, this is just one outlying sect of the religion.

But I know my ex's grandpa believed that you had to have as many kids as possible to get into heaven. At least in that family they tend to intermarry. We got a wedding invitation to my ex's cousin's wedding once, and when he looked at the bride-to-be her last name was the same as his mother's maiden name...in other words something screwy was going on! Another reason they might not marry non-believers is that friggin' everyone in Utah is Mormon, so there's not much to choose from :-)

I don't know much about their bible or beliefs, but I've heard that they believe Joseph Smith found some religious text in America, saying Jesus will return to America for the second coming. Someone else probably knows more than I do...

what do mormons belive you're going to get A LOT of junk on that.... but i am mormon and here are some of are MAIN BELIFS.

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things.

SECOND-

we tend to marry other people of are religon because we belive if you marry a lds person and get married in the temple then you will be togather forever. You're family in the after life will be togather and not split up....... im pretty sure i word'd that right.

Second question --

We marry members to marry in the temple (although some marry outside the church). Temple marriage is special because we can be sealed to each other through-out this life and through eternity, then our children will be sealed to us too and we can be a family together forever. We hope that our children will meet and marry a great spouse to be sealed to and they can be sealed to their children and so-forth.

First question

www.mormon .org can answer most of that.

The beliefs were listed.
Marrying - It's much easier marrying someone of your faith. Better than going to church alone every week!

Jehovahs witnesses do as well. Keeps the group 'pure'. Keeps out the bad influences. They believe people who aren't 'brothers' or 'sisters' are going to be a very bad influence.
Good for inbreeding as well.
