Yes it should be legal Why because of the simple fact of what the offender did if he raped or murdered someone yes he or she should be and ALL pepole that rape our innocent children shuld be first in line no matter how many times it is high time we start taking action against this people and let them know we mean bussiness this is a hypothetical question
and i pray this will never happen to you or your family what if a pedofile has raped and murdered your child how would you feel would you say just lock him away if you do or would you say give him the death peanlty

To your first question: Yes, the death penalty happens all the time so off course I believe in it.
To your second question: Yes, I believe it should be legal or illegal.
Now that my snark is out of the way. I do believe the death penalty does good as a deterant for certain people, but not for all people. Based on statistics, the death penalty seems to have effect. That being said, I only think it should be used for certain crimes and only if the evidence is overwhelming and true. Oh, an my list of crimes does not include cheating on a spouse or drugs. My list of crimes includes murder (not always manslaughter) and rape.

My problem with the death penalty is there are too many cases of men being found innocent of the crimes for which they were sentenced to death. If someone is wrongly imprisoned, you can let him out and maybe compensate him (not that anything will compensate for the lost time). If you wrongly execute someone, you can't undo that.
If we are going to execute someone, we should be absoutely damn sure that person is guilty, and we should only use it for the worst of the worst.

There have been to many errors in the courts for me to want the death penalty. I also feel that it's inhumane to actually kill somebody no matter what crime they committed but I also think that some deserve it. I have mixed feelings on the subject.

It is legal in my state (KY). I support the death penalty for child molestors/killers because they have committed a very gruesome crime and they cannot be rehabilitated.

I think it should be legal. I live in California. We never execute anyone here. I'd like to outsource our "death row inmates" to Texas.

YES... To me, happiness would be to see them take all the people off death rows in all the states... then KILL THEM ALL AT ONE TIME...

I do believe in it for some offenses. Child molestation by pedophiles tops my list.
