Bah! Packers and Cowboys are always in the top 4. In fact, if you look over the last four years, the Packers split with the Cowboys for the top spot, four 1st place polls for both teams. The Packers actually put theirs in a row between 2002 and 2005. New England is #6, which is pretty darn good. That means they have a lot of fans, cheaters or not. So don't get too carried away. I hope your Cowboys do well in the playoffs, but every team is just an injury or two away from disappointment.
As an interesting side note, the Packers and Cowboys seem to always vie for popularity in the polls. But now they are also both the only undefeated teams in the NFC. Hows that for an interesting matchup coming up in week 13 between them? That's assuming of course that they both continue to play well.

A poll means nothing.
If some sports writer hadn't coined that America's Team crap, you'd be nothing more than a highly reognizable team. Nothing more.
Now if someone in the Dallas organization came up with something original, that would be better.

Dallas Cowboys maybe America's team, But the Oakland Raiders are the Universe's team. The Raider Nation is everywhere. If Aliens come to earth, they too will be Raider fans!

It really galls the New England Liberals that undrafted Tony Romo is now the class of the NFL. And it galls them even more when you say, America's Team."

Go to any NFL city in the country. I guarantee you that Dallas would not be considered to be America's team. The only place they might be is in Dallas and maybe a few other redneck cities around Texas. Without knowing the details or the demographics of the Yahoo poll it really means nothing.

It works both ways. I love the Cowboys, always have and yes they are America's team at the same time they are also one of the most hated teams. If we took a poll in answers you would get mixed results. People learned to hate Dallas the same way many now hate the Patriots, jealousy.
