Alot. My Aunt had an affair to honor her social club. My sister who's been married to her husband for over 6yrs went to a black tie affair. My mother who's been married over 20yrs went to an affair at her job to honor breast cancer survivors.
What's your point?

More do then don't I would guess...

Nothing drives me more crazy then the women who say well my husband would never cheat. In most cases their husbands are the ones already cheating. Not saying every husband cheats I'm sure just as many wives do also, but I will say it doesn't always say the spouse is in an unhappy marriage. In some cases they cheat because sexually they are missing something or the thrill of not getting caught. Who knows what goes through their mind or its the simple case of he did it once so I will now...

When my husband and I faced this dilemma I was truly surprised by the number of people who had faced the same thing. Many only told me that it had happened in their relationships, to comfort me that I was not alone. Most of these couples were together for decades, and I would never have suspected it would/had happened to them.
It was far more common than I thought, and not one person said it ever improved matters. Makes you wonder why so many do it.

Quite a few. I think the divorce rate is a pretty close number to go with. Also, not everyone having an affair is unhappy, just greedy.

Stats say 50% to 80% depending upon who you talk to.

Not as many as the media, etc. would want you to think. Most couples split over money matters, etc...NOT because of cheating.

Mostly the unhappy ones. Marriage doesn't mean much to a lot of people nowadays
