I pre-soak mine in the sink with 1/2 cup Borax and warm water. Then I wash them and add 1/4-1/2 cup vinegar in the rinse cycle.

You need to soak them in bleach, not just run it through a wash cycle. Fill the machine up with warm water. Add a cup of bleach and agitate it around so it is well mixed. Then leave your washcloths in there overnight. The next morning, run them through the spin cycle and then re-wash them with detergent to get rid of the bleach smell. If this doesn't help, your washcloths are a lost cause. Might be cheaper to just replace them.

Pretty brilliant and so true. I know this is over two years old, but kudos anyway. Every group of people has a period where they're very inventive and then they decline. Europeans civilization is declining. The major inventors of the 21st century are probably going to be Chinese and Sub-Saharan African (the economies of most the countries in Africa are growing quickly now). Then they'll decline in a few hundred years and someone else will take their place.

Bleach usually works for me, if you have allot of rust in your water you may want to try Iron Out, first I would try adding more bleach and use hot water.

soak in diluted bleach water for awhile and then run through the wash machine cycle. if you can, hang them out in the sun, this naturally bleaches things. good luck...
