I'm not sure what years he sounds like, but I like the tune his songs are in and they were talking about what type it sounds like on the Today Show.

I think Scissor Sisters is a very 70's-sounding band. Give them a shot!

Check out The Thrills definitely, Patrick Park (more on the folk side), and Jet. All great bands.
