Today I had my appt to hear the heart beat... I am currently a lil over 15 weeks and my babies HR was 180. That seems fast. What could it mean? Is it a bad thing?

Between 120 and 160 is average, but if 180 is too fast or a cause for concern I'm sure your doctor or midwife would have told you. I've heard that earlier in pregnancy, the heartbeat is a little faster, like up to 195, so I really wouldn't worry. As your baby grows and has less room to move around, it will probably fall closer within the "normal" range.

No, it's not that fast. If it was something to be concerned about the doctor would have said so. There is a large area of normalcy with fetal heart rate and 180 is at the higher end, but it IS normal. Supposedly a faster heartrate means it's a girl...would be interesting to see how it turns out ;)

One of my babies has had a heartrate of 177. Everytime my doctor uses the Doppler, she starts wiggling and her heartrate goes up. The doctor just laughs and says the baby is just getting mad. I've read that the baby's heartrate should be between 120 and 180.

At my 12 week appointment 3 weeks ago, my baby's heartbeat was 170. It is normal, if it were not, the Dr would have said something about it.

If it was bad, they would have brought it up with you. Either call back to the office to check, or ask at your next visit.
