Men's sizes are done by how many inches their waist is.
Women's sizes in the U.S. are done by a number.
In other countries, Women's sizes are done the same as men's.. but in the U.S. it is not. It's kind of like how we don't use the metric system for things, but others do.. It's just a culture thing we do.

because women's fashion designers are retarded. it would be so much easier if women's clothing was done based on measurements like men's clothing. It is also partly a vanity thing. a size 7 sounds way better than a 30.

And the problem with women's with the smaller number sizes, are that not all sizes are created equal. a 6 in one brand could be an 8 or a 4 in another. A 30" waist is a 30" waist.

there is a growing trend in converting at least pants to waist size. So you will see a variety of pants going by waist sizes in the women's department. J. Crew has started to do this with their jeans.

Mens size 7 is the equivalent of a womens size 8 1/2. I'd say that a men's size 7 is at the top part of small, or at the bottom part of medium/average. Loafers without socks might not be the best shoe selection for you. But, whatever you decide on wearing, make sure that your feet are comfortable and also that you feel confident in wearing. Make happy tracks, Bro. Peace out.

Maybe it's a subconscious thing stores do to make women feel better about themselves. I know I'd rather say I'm a size 7 or 8 than a 30. Doesn't that just sound better? lol

Who knows. Thats an interesting question.

Same reason why when you go to the shoe store and buy a girls 6, it wont be the same as a men's 6.

30" means 30 inches
and i guess they though it would be better if girls didn't have to tell their waist size
