Nun's Priest's Tale-- the main characters in this tale really are a rooster and his hen-wife, plus one pretty crafty fox. Like many beast fables, this fable is a satire on human behavior. It can also serve as a parable, explaining a situation in terms less threatening than an explicit sermon might use.
