wotzthepoint - The point is I strongly disagree & you need to take the blinders off. Are you trying to tell me that nations where women cannot vote, go to school and in some cases, are forced to have clitorectomies are better off than Western nations? Where homosexuals are hung & mutilated? Where hundreds of thousands of people fill the streets and call for the beheading of cartoonists?
You are wrong and either a liar or extremely naïve and many of us know it.

Not really, if anything my respect for Islam has increased 10 fold, my distaste for christianity has increased 10 fold.
It is still the fastest growing religion in the world, particularly amongst many non-american nations (europeans).
For some of us, the conversion to Islam is not something done overnight, its just when we see fundamentalist christians running once powerful nations into the ground, wrecking havoc on millions of innocent people, we just convert a whole lot faster.
Islam is Peace, christians have lost their way in their hatred of the freedom of religion of other countries.
Islam makes sense, without the divine rubbish of christianity - JC's virgin birth blah blah blah.

My perception hasn't changed, but it has been reinforced by the actions of savages who people claim are in a small minority. If anything, the radicalization of (supposedly moderate) Muslims in the UK - and the push for Shar'ia law in the US - proves otherwise.

Yes it has. I guess it is due to
Thinking deeply about the facts i know about Islam and applying them to reality
Reading
Asking questions to schoolars on accredited websites such as www.al-islam.com, and www.islam-online.net
Reciting Quran
Practising worshipping acts such as prayers
Having conversations with reasonable people

Yes - I now distrust them even more. The supposedly moderate ones have proved themselves guilty of covering for and hiding the radical ones either out of fear or ignorance.

Nope, my perception hasn't changed since 9/11. It has only been reinforced by their actions.

No, it's a religion, that's my perception of it. It's all up to the interpretation of Islam and those who interpret it, the Muslims.
Are we going to have our perception of Islam based on the small number of terrorists out there or are we going to base it on the large majority of Muslims, many of whom are honorable American citizens?
