You should keep your rabbits separated. Tons of new pet rabbit owners try to keep their rabbits together and hope that their rabbits won't do this and tons of them find out that it doesn't work.

The whole companionship ideology regarding rabbits is a bunch of hype and well-intentioned but wrong-in-practice action.

Yes, two females will mount each other. You can see the same thing happen in cattle and many other animals.

Separate your rabbits and keep them separated. It's for the best. As far as determining the sex of your rabbit, the debmark website that the first answerer gave you is really good at explaining how to tell the difference with good picture illustrations.

Ask anybody who raises and shows rabbits and they will tell you that they don't keep their rabbits penned together much past weaning age. You can have mounting occur, fur chewing, ear biting, back biting, fighting, and I've even seen some rabbits chew the other rabbit's tail off. So if those aren't reason's enough, then I've wasted my time warning you.

The likelihood of them mounting or fighting each other is reduced if they are spaded or neutered, but fighting and mounting can still occur. Also note that if you spade or neuter your rabbits and you want to show them that you cannot show your rabbit at any ARBA sanctioned show.

My doe regularly humps her daughters now that they are 2 months. I've also noticed the babies and 2 males doing it to each other even though they have known each other for a long time. If you are worried one of your rabbits is male, you can turn it over to check. The testicles on an unnuetered rabbit are pretty obvious by 4-5 months. If it is a male separate them, neuter the male, wait for babies to be born (gestation is 1 month) and weaned, and then reintroduce your rabbits.

I had 2 male rabbits and the one would always hump the other when they were together...my sister would get angry at my mom for putting them in their cage together in the backyard because she didn't want other people to see, lol!
We tried to keep them away from each other after a while. It's probably normal, and if they're the same sex, no wave of babies will come of it, but if you don't like it, just try to keep them seperate, or watch them if they're put together.

Females mount for dominance. Separate them. It is neither healthy nor wise to house two rabbits that are unaltered together. Eventually, terrible fights over territory will break out, and this can cause severe injury and even death. If you want to house them together, find yourself a good exotic vet, and pay to have them spayed.
