Why would it be fair to take away the right for an employer to choose who he wants working for him? I can understand affirmative action working for govt. jobs but, beyond that it is just a form of discrimination.

It's not supposed to be fair for them - it's to make sure some racist business owner doesn't keep people from moving up. It's all white males in power (for the most part), this is just to give everyone else a leg up. It's white females who benefit from it the most though
