If I am at an LSU game I think I probably drink 18-24 before I fill up my flasks and head into Tiger Stadium.

If I am at home I have been known to knock back somewhere around 30ish.

I was just curious if this is normal or if I have a drinking problem. These #'s are pretty conservative too. I also have several friends that can perform as well as myself. Are we a bunch of sots or are we the norm?

Well, I probably only have 3-4 during an entire game; reason being that I once tried to do a shot of beer for every minute of an OSU football game and I don't seem to remember the 4th quarter. (And I thought halftime would give me a little reprieve!)
For a college kid, that's normal. You have a drinking problem if you can do that every day of the week and still go....that's what the professionals call a functioning alcoholic.

Cheers!

That is perfectly normal where I come from. I think it is funny how people like redman say you would be dead. I drink beer like this all the time. Your #'s are pretty close to accurate for most veteran Tiger fans. At the VT game, me and my Buddy bought 2 cases and we had them polished off well before kickoff. You are not a drunk, you are a true Tiger fan. I aint the beer that gets you, it's the flask's full of Old Charter during the game.

on game day ill have 3-5 w/ my old man if im at the Coliseum (dry stadium, tailgate for 4-6 hours b4 each game, pound down a couple red bulls before going in to get the juice flowing)and maybe 2 or 3 the whole day if im at home. college football isnt about how wasted you can get! you cant enjoy the game that way! id much rather be 100000000000% sober and enjoy an awesome day of football than have bragging rights w/ Bubba from Sigma Nu!

and by the way...18-30 is ridiculous...im 6'4" 215... if im getting tanked 4-6 shots plus 8-10 beers does the trick. oh and i havent been drunk in about 6 months...im 26, dont need to be wasted to have fun anymore. 30 would put me in a comma and im not ashamed to admit it. i like going out w/ my friends/girlfriend having 3-5 beers and a couple shots to loosen up but stay sober enough to know what im doing and not be hung over the next day. plus if worse comes to worse and i cant take a taxi, ill be sober enough to get home safely.

you need help man, honestly.

At home on college football saturday, I usually drink around 20 before switching to the fire water. This includes other forms of narcotics along the way to even me out. Hell, last Wednesday night a buddy and me started drinking after work around 6 p.m. and polished off two cases, and were at work the next day for 8 a.m. It's all about building up your tolerance.

You should really be proud of yourself for consuming all that alcohol. You're a better man than I am. I can't drink all that and be able to enjoy the game. I would have to spend the majority of the game in the John peeing and puking. I would also have to ask someone who won later on when I sobered up. I don't drink and I enjoy the games just fine. Tomorrow I can still remember the finer points in the game.

as a fellow Tiger fan...I believe your numbers are close. When you average it throughout a 12-14 hour tailgate process, that's not a drinking problem. That's staying hydrated.

That is heavy drinking by anyone's standards. You can get away with that while you are young....for a short time. After that you have to grow up/dry out/enjoy our beverages in moderation, etc. or else.
