It means you have a double root.

For the function f(x) = ax² + bx + c = 0

the discriminant is b² - 4ac.

Setting f(x) = 0 and solving for x we have:

x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)] / (2a)

Clearly, if the disriminant equals zero, the two solutions for x are the same. This means you have a double root.
