1) Take out a big life insurance policy on your boyfriend
2) Send him to the grocery store for something
3) Collect life insurance
4) Get a new mechanically inclined boyfriend
All kidding aside, the pads are ruined and need to be replaced (especially if he has tried to drive the car with the grease on them). Also, the drums or calipers will need to be degreased. If he made this mistake, it might be worth having a comptent mechanic check over his work since he may not have rebuilt or replaced the brake cylinders or properly bled the brakes.

Take the car to Meinke or another reputable mechanic in your area. Kick the boyfriend to the curb if he won't pay for the repairs. If he does and you love him, then stay with him but don't allow him to practice on your vehicle. The car can turn into a weapon with ill fated mistakes like this and you would be the one who would be the victim.
Hopefully the b/f possesses other skills.

Did he assemble it? run it? If assembled and run in this manner, new pads, Clean rotors with "Brake Clean" and maybe think about the change, or at least NEVER let him touch the car again!

yes. in a sudden breaking situation you may not get the stopping distance you would typically have. the grease will break down the integrity of the pad.

Yes, he should get new brakes. The compound that the pads are made from are probably ruined.

YES!!!
Don't try to use these pads, or clean them. That's dangerous, and they're useless.
