falling in love is never planned. it just happens .
how?the greeks believe that Cupid, the boy with the arrow, throws his arrows to the hearts of those whom he chooses to fall in love. the result is that they fall in love.they cannot help it.
moslems believe that fate places the male and the female ,who are ordained to fall in love , in the path of each other , by chance, by a matchmaker, by the kind aunt or neighbor ,whoever or whatever will do it.
the result is that they accept each other if everything is ok . falling in love may happen during their 1st encounter, or after a while, or after marriage.
anyway one day , one of them or both will discover he/she/they has/have fallen in love.
it isnt done by will, it is happens when the chemistry is good.
an unlucky person is one who doesnt fall in love.
he/she drags his /her legs day after day, feels that life is boring, has to be endured without enjoyment.
best of luck to everyone ,who hasnt yet fallen in love , to have the good fortune of meeting the right person before it is too late .

Most times love isn't planned. You don't sit around and say, "I'm going to love that person." It is similar to falling into something... it's a shock, a surprise, and hey... sometimes it hurts too!

I am not sure where the phrase originated. I think I'll see if I can look it up though. I haven't really thought about it until you asked.

Thanks for making me think a little.

you said it. you fall into something. like you are taken off guard or by surprise. like you never planned it and can't stop yourself from plunging into the tunnel of love.

people fall in love with the idea of love more than falling in love with someone. too much media on the subject. this predisposes to allot of disappointment. so watch out.

Interesting way to look at it but it's and idiomatic expression and in french it's the same "tomber amoureuse". It'd be interesting to look into the entomology of the word. But yes, it does seem that we happen upon love in a way, our choice in the matter is not much.

i think coz u suddenly find urself in love, we do not prepare to do and we do not notice that we r in love as u mentioned. Its really against our will.

Love is not a bad thing dear, its bad when someone uses this love against u but its the most fabulous feelings in the whole world.

it's an idiom i think, like when you don't love someone anymore you "fall out of love"..an idiom is defined as: an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meanings of its constituent element.
