16/6 + 12/6 = 28/6
SIMPLY ADD NUMERATORS IF THEY HAVE THE SAME DENOMINATOR... AND SUBTRACTION AS WELL
if the given fractions aren't the same denominator,,, get the least common denominator....

IN MULTIPLICATION: you dont need to have the same denominator in order to do the opertaion simply multiply the numerator and the denominator or cross multiply
example: 10/5 X 5/9 = 50/45 simplify 10/9

IN DIVISION: reverse the second fraction and proceed to multiplication...
example: 6/5 divided by 3/4
reverse the 2nd fraction w/c is 3/4 and use multiplication
6/5 x 4/3 = 24/15 or simplify 8/5

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

OK - first let's add them and then we'll multiply.

16/6 + 12/6 = 28/6
(since the denominator is the same, you can add the numerators)

Now let's multiply

16/6 * 12/6 = ? ( well, lets reduce and cancel out factors)

8/3 * 2/1 = 16/3

(for multiplication, it is simply multiply the numerators and then multiply the denominators).

I left the answers as improper, if you go to mixed, the answers would be addition = 4 4/6 or 4 2/3. The multiplication would be 5 1/3. Hope this helps.

To multiply these:

Cross-divide the numerators and denominators if you can.
Then multiply the numerators to get the numerator of the answer. Multiply the denominators to get the denominator of the answer.

16/6 * 12/6 Cross divide 16 and 6 by 2 to get 8/3.
Cross divide 12 and 6 by 6 to get 2/1.

8/3 * 2/1 = 16/3

To divide the same numbers, invert the second fraction and then multiply.
16/6 divided by 12/6
16/6 * 6/12 Cross divide the 6 and 6 by 6.
16/1 * 1/12 Cross divide the 16 and 12 by 2.
8/1 * 1/6 Cross divide the 8 and 6 by 2.
4/1 * 1/3 Now multiply.
= 4/3

when you add fractions, you have to get both of them to have the same denominator and then add numerators (same with subtraction). 16/6 and 12/6 have the same denominator already. so the answer is (16+12)/6 == 28/6. then simplify to 14/3.

when you multiply fractions, just multiply the numerators, and multiply the denoms.
16/6 x 12/6 = (16x12) / (6x6)

when you divide fractions (you asked for division in your title), you take the reciprocal of the second fraction and multiply.
(16/6) / (12/6) = (16/6) x (6/12) = 16/12 = 4/3

16/6 + 12/6 = (16+12)/6 = 28/6 = 4 4/6 = 4 2/3

16/6 * 12/6 = (16*12)/(6 * 6) = 192/36 = 5 12/36 = 5 1/3

16/6 / 12/6 = 16/6 * 6/12 = 16/12 = 1 4/12 = 1 1/3

I have a grudge against improper fractions...

ok, Sarah. Oh, I do desire all your issues will finally end up as person-friendly to clean up as those. Get your math text fabric e book out and look up the area coping with multiplication of fractions. study the educational. Then only do because of fact the e book tells you. 3 x 3 3/4 Simplify the expression: 3/a million x 15/4 = 40 5/4 Multiply the two authentic and backside. = 11 a million/4 4/5 x 9/8 Multiply authentic and backside: 36 / 40 Simplify by ability of dividing the two authentic and backside by ability of four: = 9 /10 that's all. Like smart for 2 2/7 x 4 2/3 x a million a million/8. Simplify: sixteen/7 x 14/ 3 x 9/8 you're able to do this: (sixteen x 14 x 9) / (7 x 3 x 8) returned, simplify this expression by ability of cancelling out: there are 2 eights in sixteen, there are 2 sevens in 14 and there are 3 threes in 9. once you cancel out your expression would be (2 x 2 x 3) throughout a million x a million x a million Simplify returned: 12 / a million = 12. No, in those equations, you do no longer upload something. no one has counseled you to function. there is not any + image given to function, is there? only multiplication. do no longer make the puzzle puzzling for your self by ability of doing belongings you do no longer would desire to. I only can not think of the form you ended up with the incorrect result on the top occasion. yet thank you for displaying it. look on the priority this way. a fraction is below one. If we multiply yet another fraction by ability of below one, then we can finally end up with a fraction below we began with. e.g. a nil.5 of a nil.5 is 1 / 4, top? Your final occasion, elevated out, will bring about 60 / 240. Now, you could end that and the single earlier all of it by ability of your self. _Good on you, Sarah!__________________________________...
