Sexy is more of an attitude. It's how you carry yourself, it's your sex appeal. You don't have to be drop dead gorgeous to be sexy. Hot on the other hand implies physically. You have to be smoking to be considered hot. You can be hot and sexy and the same time....

Sure. But 'hot', can also mean 'difficult and a little dangerous', like being "in vogue", so everyone wants you. If you drive a "hot" car, for example, you have to know it's a stolen car, and the police will be looking for you.
Sexy, is different. Maybe you have to get to know the person well, let them grow on you, before you realise they are also sexy.

It can be at times the two can be synonymous. Most times hot is a referencee of a sex act nature, while sexy is an art and more often associated with Love and style. Jamie Lee Curtis was hot in her nude scenes from Trading Places. She was sexy as strong fighting, yet dumb wife of the Scwartz in True Lies. Gillian Anderson from the X-Files was always sexy and proffessional as the female agent in the series. In real life out on the town she is down right drop dead HOT.

No, they do not mean the same, even though a lot of people use the word "hot" in this wrong way.

"Hot" refers exclusively to temperature, while "sexy" is related to the appearance of a human being.

Example: Fire is hot, Marilyn Monroe was sexy.

Typically being "Hot" and being "Sexy" is almost synonomous - but one can be "sexy" without being "hot"

I think of "hot" as more along the lines of pure physical attributes. "Sexy" can be a state of mind... an attitide... or just a style & manner.

Examples... hmmm ...

Paris Hilton ... Hot, but not sexy
Angelina Jolie ... Hot *and* Sexy
Shannon Tweed ... *used to be Hot* ... now just Sexy.

Here are my three levels of attraction:

Cute = dateable
Hot = pleasant on the eyes, but they ruin the fascination as soon as they open the their mouth
Sexy = You don't want to talk or stare, you just want to jump their bones. Get the idea?

Hope that made you smile!
