My brother put in a broken floppy disk in the computer and know it won't work. It turns on but you get this weird message at the begining. What kind of software should I buy or what do I do?

go into bios and dissable floppy drive if you cant afford to replace it. it sounds like your pc is trying to boot from the floopy while your in your bios change the boot order from floppy to c drive. also when your pc is booting and going through the post, the boot up is stoped because the floppy isnt working, in some cases you can press f1 to continue

Remove the broken floppy disk from the drive. If teh drive was damaged they are easy to replace and cost about 10 bucks. Alternatively you can disable the "Boot from Floppy" option in the system BIOS. This will skip accessing the floppy drive when you start the PC.

I assume that you took the broken floppy out of the drive? If so than the floppy hardware is probably broken and you will need to buy a new one and replace it. Maybe someone is throwing out a computer with a working floppy drive? Floppy drives are not being installed on new computers anymore.

No software changes should be needed.

Remove the floppy drive, remove back plate, remove metal slider and look for the spring. Always check your metal slider before inserting into the drive. always pull straight out, not up.

Hi. There is a small hole on the front of the drive. This is an emergency eject feature. Use a bent paper clip to push the button inside the hole. If the disk stays stuck you may have to disassemble the drive.
