that visit this forum, tells us that things that we are reminiscing about are still around and hasn't been that long? I get a chuckle out of it because we are talking about things that happen in our teens (1940s-1960s), and now it is back and fashionable for them.

And I have mentioned that to them, even in person. I still have a few clothes that I can put on. They're like " that is cool" . Yup, it was then too. Now if I only still had that leisure suit.

Reminds me of the scene at the ball park a few seasons ago. Some young man was telling an elderly gentleman that the older generation wasn't really familiar or thrilled with all of the modern stuff like TVs, video cameras, digital cameras, computers, rocket ships, etc. The elderly gentlemen said the source of disinterest might be that the older generation had already invented all of that stuff and he asked the younger man what he had done so far. End of conversation.

It's hard sometimes for young people of any generation, to realize they didn't 'invent' everything. lol. I remember I'd hear a song I thought was new and mom would start singing the words. I didn't like realizing it didn't 'belong' to my generation.

As a 'boomer' I remember some things folks ask about here, others I don't. I enjoy learning, even if I have to 'look up' something.

Oh, is that what they mean? I have asked some kids how they know some things that weren't around before they were born, their answer is usually "Nickelodeon". For those that don't know what that is, it's a cable tv station that shows really old shows. Kids learn a lot about us from those old shows!

When the mini skirts came out, we thought that that was the coolest ever. I for one wasn't allowed to wear them, but....my Aunt who Graduated from High School in 1932 had been a Charleston Queen in high school.

That is so true because when I was a teenager in the early sixties we wore peddle pushers and in the the late seventies, my daughter wore jogpurs and now my grandaughter is wearing capris .

I seem to remember 'wearing your pants really low' (a little bit of cheek and/or hair showing) was sort of a fad during the late 50s.

Same things - different names.
Imagine what our seniors thought about our things that they used to do or have before us.
