My daughter's 14th was a blast. Since the girls were all sleeping in the living room, we dragged out 3 futon mattresses, all the extra pillows in the house, moved the couches out of the way, made a huge bed. The girls played dog-pile for hours and hours. If you weren't fast, you'd be at the bottom stack, smashed flat.

It's really fun to decorate cookies. If you cut out and bake some cookies, and then get these icing tubes that you can write with, etc., you can make all kinds of flowers, g-bread men and women, stars, thanksgiving stuff. It turns out so well that my daughter (now 21) gives them as gifts at holidays. It's a blast. If you need recipes and specifics on the icing, let me know.

She also had a craft for the girls to do. She had lots of bic ballpoint pens, and they took them apart and wrapped green florist's tape all around the cylinder till you get 1" from the top. Then you put a silk flower (1" of stem) on the cylinder and wrap it the rest of the way. Then put the pen back together. It's so cute.

But you guys could make any kind of craft. You could put together a beta bowl. Those are easy (go to petco).

Other than dog-pile, the girls played a game called "murder." They turned out all the lights and were running around shooting each other by touching shoulders, laughing and giggling, falling on the floor. I don't know how it's played, but you could ask my daughter...kvilla@rice.edu--her name is Kim.

Have fun, Katie. and Happy Birthday!

You can have a lot of fun with just 6 of you!

I write a party blog and wrote one on teen party ideas. Maybe it will help.
