Hi. Usually you have to configure your soundcard for the extra speakers. If one set works and you plug in the other (swap) do the speakers work? If not, find the problem with the wiring.

Has a similar problem, try the sound properties, when you installed the sound drivers from CD they normally install there lttle programme, on here or in xp..
start, control panel, sound, speaker, properties, ensure you sound card has x4 speakers enabled, if not the sound programme (often a mixer) that came with the card, click on this (often found bottom right) wade through all the effects etc... til you find the speaker but, its should have a test facilty too, but ensure you have the correct 3.5mm jack plugs in the correct slot, if all this fails, your sound card may not allow you to do this.
