When I was younger (I am 28 now) I used to laugh and crack jokes all the time. I noticed that as I get older I don't find as many things funny anymore. Is it that I am finally an adult or did my personality change?

Personally, I'd find a way to reclaim that sense of humor. I just laughed my butt off at someone's comment to another person's question and I can't tell you how good that felt.

Studies have shown that laughter is a highly beneficial act that is rejuvenating, releases stress, exercises the abdomen muscles, and increases immune response. Some claim that regaining their sense of humor and made it a habit to laugh often everyday cured them of cancer. I don't know about that, but it sure doesn't hurt unless you're laughing so uncontrollably you bust a blood vessel or pass out.

The reason why your sense of humor may be waning is that you are not allowing yourself to lighten up or you don't search out funny material to amuse yourself with. Lighten up, go to a comedy club or see a comedy in a packed movie theater (laughter is contagious).

Look around at your life and see what is bringing you down and try to minimize those things in your life (get an attitude check while your at it). I'm a generally very jovial person and the more I work on enlightening myself, the more I find I laugh at the silliest things. Being mature doesn't mean taking things too seriously, in fact, it's the opposite.

Hope you come around... :-)

Maybe you are more serious, maybe you are working harder, maturing, maybe there isn't as much to laugh about, maybe you're tired....Has anything else changed with regard to your personality? Has anyone asked what's wrong with you?
Do you still laugh and crack jokes some of the time?
I think we all change and grow and mature over time and maybe that's what's going on with you. If it is bothering you, ask a close friend what they think about your personality possibly changing and see what feedback you get.

Life kicks you while you are down too much. At least, that is what my problem is. Too many hardships, too much grief. I don't think life is amusing anymore.

The first and major step is to slow down. Then you go from there.
