Tom Harkin -- an odd attack dog

Senator Tom Harkin has joined the Democratic left's attack on Rush Limbaugh for calling a phony soldier a phony soldier. Here is Harkin's charming contribution, which he saw fit to offer on the floor of the U.S. Senate:

Well, I don’t know. Maybe [Limbaugh] was just high on his drugs again. I don’t know whether he was or not. If so, he ought to let us know. But that shouldn’t be an excuse.
As Michelle Malkin points out, Harkin knows a thing or two about phony claims regarding military service. During his 1992 presidential campaign, Harkin claimed he served as a pilot in Vietnam. And when he ran for the Senate in 1984, Harkin said he had flown combat missions in Vietnam. But after changing his story several times, Harkin eventually admitted he had not flown combat missions in Vietnam, and he began describing himself as a Vietnam-era veteran. Not only had he not flown combat missions in Vietnam, he had not served there.

Glenn Reynolds had the details back in 2004. As he put it then, "Harkin seems a rather odd choice for the Democrats as an attack dog." He seems ever more odd now, but I guess Moveon.org has to take whatever it could get.

Harkin has been and remains pathetic.

BTW, please note how the alleged "tolerant" left can be so vile and vicious towards individuals with addictions. How "big" of them.

Harken is a lair -- he used to say he fly F-4's in Viet Nam -- but when they found out he didn't he pulled back -- and now he's on Rush's case... Rush was talkin about a guy that was in the Army for 44 days (really) and lied about Iraq -- i.e., phoney soilder -- guy is in jail for lyin -- he is a phoney soilder,
but the libs didn't even investigae him -- just belived all he said and it was a lie -- so now Reid is playin right into Rush's hands -- again the libs don't know crap about anything -- and they wanna be our leaders -- gimmie a break

I'm guessing that the US's house is in order, when a senator has this issue on his plate. Isn't there something MORE important that Harkin should be worrying about?

It doesn't matter that Mr. Limbaughs remarks are taken completely out of context. Even liberal US Senators are using it as an excuse to attack him. They are so afraid of him, for exposing their leftist agenda, they will do anything to get rid of him. Even deliberately lie about the facts.

you are lying.

limbaugh's exact words were "phony soldiers.'

note the 's' at the end of the word soldier - indicating plural, as in more than one.

limbaugh is no better than the moveon crowd in thinking that it's ok to attack our brave soldiers.

boycott limbaugh and his sponsors until he is removed from the airwaves...
